3 years ago today, Hurricane Irma made landfall over the southern Florida mainland around 1 p.m. local time, September 10, 2017 as a Category 3 storm, packing winds of more than 110 miles per hour.
It roared its way north, overwhelming the entire state with heavy rains and fierce winds creating damage & loss in Florida.
Irma was the most intense #hurricane to strike the east coast of the United States since Katrina in 2005 and resulted in 134 fatalities and caused over $65 billion in damage.
